UK hit with red alerts for severe weather

Red alerts for severe weather have been issued for parts of Wales and south west England, with more bad weather expected to sweep in. Large parts of eastern England and much of Scotland are already suffering from freezing temperatures and heavy snow and the National Grid is warning that the UK may not have enough gas to meet demand.
