Chances of being hit by falling Chinese space station one in a trillion

An out-of-control Chinese space station launched in 2011 will crash back down to Earth, and scientists have warned the chances of being struck by a piece of its debris is one in a trillion. While the re-entry of satellites is common, Tiangong-1 is much larger than most and it’s more rigid components will survive the extreme heat as it falls through Earth’s atmosphere. As the space station falls, it will create a light show akin to a meteor shower.
