Motherboard: USB 3.0 Ports (extern) erkennen externe Festplatte (USB 3.0) nicht

Hallo Zusammen!
Ich setze eine Toshiba Stor.E Basic 1TB zur Datensicherung ein. Bis 04.2015 unter Win 7 an einer USB 2.0 Schnittstelle. Seit April an einem neuen PC unter Win 8.1 an einem USB 3.0 Port. Das hat zunächst gut funktioniert, bis Ende Mai plötzlich Schluss war. Nach dem Herunterfahren des PC lief die Platte einfach weiter. Nun stellt sich mein Problem wie folgt dar:

Die externe HDD läuft an beiden externen USB 3.0 Ports nicht. Die Status-LED leuchtet zunächst, erlischt jedoch später. Die Platte ist spürbar ständig in Rotation. Das Laufwerk wird weder im Windows-Explorer noch in der Datenträgerverwaltung angezeigt. Im Gerätemanager erscheint jedoch ein Eintrag. Das Laufwerk lässt sich an diesen Port nicht mehr sicher entfernen!

Ich verfüge an der PC-Front über einen weiteren USB 3.0 Port, der an den internen USB 3.0 Controller des Motherboard angeschlossen ist. Hier läuft die externe Festplatte einwandfrei inkl. Verfügbarkeit im Win-Explorer, Gerätemanager und Datenträgerverwaltung. Gleiches gilt auch, wenn ich die Platte an einem USB 2.0 Port anschließe.

An den zuerst genannten Ports laufen jedoch auch div. USB 2.0 Speichersticks. Ich bin etwas ratlos, wo hier der Fehler liegt: Software (Treiber)? Hardware? Und wenn, ext. Platte oder USB 3.0 Ports defekt?

Über Lösungen oder Lösungsansätze wäre ich sehr dankbar. :)

Kaufberatung: Nachteile von Windows 8.1 with Bing gegenüber der "normalen" Windows 8.1?

Hallo,

undzwar wollte ich mir ein Laptop kaufen. Da kommen für mich 2 in Frage.
Der eine hat schlechteren CPU + Windows 8.1
der andere hat besseren CPU + Windows 8.1 Bing. Leistungstechnisch ist der Unterschied zwischen den Prozessoren sehr gering, aber spürbar.

Nun, für welchen Laptop soll ich mich entscheiden?
Kann ich Windows 8.1 Bing denn Upgraden auf Windows 10?
Was sind die Nachteile von Windows 8.1 Bing?

Frage: Upgrade auf Windows 10 (final)

Hallo,

alle reden momentan über das Windows 10 Upgrade über Windows Update. Nun stellt sich mir die Frage, ob das Upgrade zwingend von Windows 7/8/8.1 über Windows Update passieren muss. Kann man sich nicht ein Windows 10 (final) Installationsmedium besorgen/zukommen lassen und damit ein Upgrade durchführen? Wie sieht es dabei mit der Aktivierung von Windows 10 aus?

Diese Frage stellt sich mir schon seit einiger Zeit und ich bedanke mich schon mal im Voraus für die Antworten :)

Frage: Cortana deaktivieren, - aber wie?

Ich brauche Cortana nicht. Deinstallieren kann man es jedoch nicht. Aber das Deaktivieren wird angeboten. Also deaktiviere ich es mit dem angebotenen Schieber, woraufhin ein Neustart meines 640DS gefordert wird. Das mache ich dann auch brav. Danach gehe ich wieder in die Einstellungen von Cortana, und siehe da, das Programm ist wieder aktiviert. Aber ich kann es ja deaktivieren. Natürlich ist danach ein Neustart des Gerätes erforderlich. Und danach stelle ich fest, Cortana ist wieder aktiviert. Aber ich kann es ja deaktivieren..... usw (siehe oben).

Wie zum Teufel kann ich Cortana deaktivieren? Es verbraucht ungefragt Datenvolumen, dass ich anderweitig besser verwenden kann.
